Master’s Degree

To enrol in a Master’s Degree programme, students must hold a Bachelor’s degree or a three-year university diploma - or another qualification obtained abroad and recognised as equivalent -, as well as specific curricular requirements and adequate preparation. Admission is assessed according to procedures defined in the teaching regulations of each Master’s Degree programme, which also specify the admission criteria.

A PhD is the highest level of university education. On this three-year programme, you will have the opportunity to explore a topic you are passionate about through advanced research, making a direct contribution to the development of new knowledge and technologies.
Upon completion of the programme, following the defence of your final thesis, you will be awarded the title of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

The degree programme, in addition to implementing initiatives aimed at supporting career guidance, makes use of the services provided by the University of Florence for its students.

The Service Points dedicated to career guidance and job placement for students, graduates, PhD students and PhD holders at the University of Florence aim to respond appropriately to users’ needs and expectations, providing support for career development choices.

Within the School of Humanities and Education Studies, a Service Point is located at Via Capponi 9 - Florence, open on Mondays from 9:00 to 13:00.

AlmaLaurea

It is a database that collects extensive documentation on all graduates and diploma holders from universities belonging to the AlmaLaurea association. Its aim is to facilitate graduates’ entry into the labour market, support companies in recruiting staff, and reduce the time needed to match labour supply and demand for qualified employment.

Master Programmes

This is a postgraduate qualification for advanced scientific specialisation and higher education, following the completion of a Bachelor’s degree (First-level Master) or a Master’s degree (Second-level Master).
